Early morning and I’m spending it at the lake. Specifically Lake Yale in Leesville, Florida. It’s a writers conference. I’m surrounded by people, all with a heart for the Lord, honing their craft for what their Creator would have each of them create next. Truly many beautiful souls.
Upon arrival yesterday I see a cross beside a peer facing the eastern horizon and know exactly where I’ll be the next couple mornings.
As the stars were tucked in for their slumber complete with birds singing lullabies, the hues in the distance did nothing to disappoint. It seemed one ray of sunshine at a time joined the next.
Then just like life distractions came. Specifically pesky winged bats, errr mosquitoes, graced the morning prayer and beauty to suck the life out of me. Just like He always does, God found a way to bring a question to mind and lovingly walk me to His Word.
“What’s bugging you as you journey to carry the cross? Or what’s bigger, your “bug” or my love? Lift up your head child. My love is more.”
I toyed with that concept the rest of the morning. Moved myself closer to the cross so that my field of view could not see past the horizontal stretching wood.
“Hold Me closer. As far as the east is from the west my child.”
I’m taking refuge in Psalm 73 today. Verses 23-26.
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever. (NIV)

Truly truly beautiful words feom rhe Lord given toyou! Thanks for listening!
